Terms of Service
Effective September 24, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Cloister LLC (“we”, “us”), which operates Agape. By creating an account or using Agape, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
What Agape is — and isn’t
Agape helps engaged couples prepare for a Catholic wedding with their parish and plan the celebration around it. It is independent and is not an official service of the Catholic Church or of any diocese or parish.
Your parish and diocese decide every canonical and liturgical matter: whether and when you may marry, what preparation and documents are required, which form of the rite is used, and the readings and music for your liturgy. Agape’s guidance is general and never replaces what your priest tells you.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- Give accurate information, especially in your marriage file, and keep your password to yourself.
- A couple’s account is shared by both partners. Each of you can see the marriage file and change only your own answers.
Information about other people
When you add guests, witnesses or others, you confirm that you may share their details with us for your wedding, and that they would expect to hear from Agape about it (for example, an invitation to sign a witness statement or to RSVP).
Your content
You own what you add to Agape — your answers, documents, photos and website text. You give us permission to store, display and share it only as needed to run the service for you: to show your wedding website to your guests, and to share your marriage file with the parish and diocese you connect with and your inquiries with the vendors you contact. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share.
Vendors and venues
- The directory includes businesses listed from public information. A listing, a “Catholic-friendly” mark or a Catholic directory source is not an endorsement or a guarantee from us or from the Church.
- Agreements you make with a vendor are between you and the vendor. We aren’t a party to them and aren’t responsible for their services.
- Vendors who claim a listing agree to keep it accurate, to use couples’ details only to answer their inquiries, and not to send them marketing they didn’t ask for.
Payments
- Agape is free for couples. Optional paid features, such as Agape Premium (your own domain, no Agape credit), are one-time purchases at the price shown before you pay. If something you bought doesn’t work for you, email us within 14 days and we’ll make it right or refund you.
- Cash gifts from guests are processed by Stripe and paid out to the couple’s Stripe account, under Stripe’s terms. Any processing or platform fee is shown to the guest before they pay. Gifts are between the guest and the couple; we don’t hold the money.
- Some registry and hotel links are affiliate links that earn us a commission at no cost to you.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Agape to:
- impersonate someone, or submit a marriage file or witness statement you know to be false;
- harass anyone, or send spam through inquiries or messages;
- access data that isn’t yours, or try to break or overload the service;
- publish anything unlawful on a wedding website.
We may suspend accounts or remove content that breaks these rules.
Ending your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing hello@agapewedding.com; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data. We may close accounts that break these terms, and we’ll give you notice and a chance to get a copy of your information unless the law or safety requires otherwise.
Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep Agape accurate and available, but it is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made by parishes, dioceses, vendors or guests, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Agape after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
